A studio tour is an opportunity to have a glimpse at an artist's work space.

What is it?

In order to visit the artist's studio, visitors travel by foot or car between studios and view both the studio itself, and the artwork created within. Good conversation and snacks await at all locations.

where is it?

Whitchurch-Stouffville is located approximately 50km north of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Consisting of several distinct communities, Stouffville proper is the largest and where visitors will find a number of our  studios. The rest of our studios are located just north of Stouffville in the community of Ballantrae. Visit the official town website for more information about our community:

when is it?

The Studio Tour is an annual event that falls the weekend after Thanksgiving.

  • Get to know the artists

  • Plan a route (Electronic maps available October 1 annually)

  • Look for the signs, both on the road and in front of the studios

What about that draw?

Guests on the tour can enter to win  an original art piece at each site! Each one of our artist sites will have their own draw for unique, original art valued between $75 and $200. Enter for a chance to win at each site that you visit!

Winners will be drawn the second day of the tour at 4:30pm!

Who are the Artists?

In order to participate, Studio Tour artists first apply, are then juried, and finally are selected by a committee. Collectively, they have an eclectic body of work, significant artistic experience, and many awards and accolades between them.

All artists reside or work at their Whitchurch-Stouffville studios; guest artists have been invited by the host artist and may come from outside the township.

Applications to become a Studio Tour artist are made available at the beginning of February and due on February 15th, annually.
